During these challenging times, it is important to understand the impacts the COVID-19 pandemic is having on the autism community. We invite caregivers with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and self-advocates/autistic adults to participate by filling out the survey to share their experiences to help inform on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and what support strategies are helpful in coping.
Participation is voluntary. You can skip any question you wish not to fill out. You may also change your mind and exit the survey at any time. Completing the survey should take about 10-15 minutes. This is an anonymous survey. Social media handles, account names, email addresses and IP addresses will not be recorded or retained by Autism Speaks Canada, the McMaster Autism Research Team and the Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorder Alliance.
Purpose of the Survey:
The purpose of the survey is to understand how the autism community is being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the survey will be compiled into a report and shared widely. The survey will be used:
- For individuals and families in the autism community to share how they have been impacted by changes related to the COVID-19 pandemic
- To inform service organizations of what services and supports are most helpful for families
- To inform governments of how the autism community has been impacted and advocate for increased supports in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and future emergency situations
Participants: We invite caregivers of children (all ages) and family members as well as self-advocates on the autism spectrum across Canada to participate.
The survey is scheduled to close on Sunday, May 24, 2020. 11:59 PM EST.
