At North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS), we are saddened by the tragedies that continue to unfold around the world and in our country. We want the community to know that we stand in solidarity and are committed to addressing racism and discrimination.
We still have a lot of work to do, however we remain unwavering in our journey to ensure that anti-oppression values, statements and practices are embedded in all aspects of our organization.
We continue to develop strategies to build capacity and encourage the inclusion of knowledge and perspectives of those who have been marginalized.
We recognize and uphold the principle of promoting an environment and culture in which the children, youth and families we serve and our staff, care providers and volunteers are treated with mutual respect, dignity and equity.
We are committed to the eradication of any misuse of power and privilege, while advocating change to the structures that oppress children, youth and families, regarding issues such as race, ethnic origin, linguistic and cultural diversity, age, class, mental health, ability, sexual orientation, or gender.
We welcome opportunities to learn and work so that we may better serve marginalized children, youth and families within our communities. Please send us a message, call us at 705-360-7100 or email info@neofacs.org to share how NEOFACS can further improve our anti-oppression practice.
