Privacy and Personal Information
North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) respects the privacy of children, youth and families participating in our programs and services. We protect your personal information and adhere to all legislative requirements with respect to privacy.
As a multi-service Agency, our programs and services are governed in accordance to various provincial laws and agency policies.
Child and Youth Mental Health Services
Our Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) client information is governed by the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
As a Moving on Mental Health (MOMH) lead agency in the districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming, NEOFACS collects, uses and discloses client information to deliver its client services and to conduct service planning analysis.
The collection, use and disclosure of client information is in accordance to our CYMH Privacy Policy and our CYMH Program Privacy Statement.
Child Welfare Services
Our Child Welfare services are required to follow the privacy rules under the Child Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA).
We are required to keep your personal information safe and secure. You have the right to know how we may use and give out your service information, and how you can get access to it. We are committed to promoting privacy and protecting the confidentiality of the personal information we hold about you and the services you have received.
Our mandate as a Children’s Aid Society (CAS) and the privacy rules we are required to follow are outlined in our Notice of Information Practices.
