TIMMINS – On Thursday December 18th North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) was presented with approximately $3500 value of cash and toys from an employee lead toy drive held by Imerys Talc. Imerys Talc matched the contribution which is part of their Charities of Choice program offered in our community.
The NEOFACS Christmas Wishes Campaign helps to provide necessities like food, clothing and gifts to children youth and families in the districts of Temiskaming and Cochrane during the holiday season.
“We provide a multitude of services across a vast geographical area” said Brooke Ballantyne, Communications Coordinator for NEOFACS “Some families in the communities we serve don’t have the financial resources or the means to provide the kind of Christmas they want for their families.”
The annual NEOFACS Christmas Wish campaign provides a channel for organizations like Imerys Talc to give back to our community’s children, youth and families. For the past 8 years Imerys Talc staff in Timmins has generously participated by hosting a toy drive.
“Our staff come together and extend a hand to those in our community who are less fortunate.” Said David Vodusek, Business Improvement and Environment Manager at Imerys Talc. “Their spirit around Christmas is inspiring, and the company is more than happy match the donations made by the staff.”
Imerys Talc’s employees once again selected to participate in the annual toy drive for NEOFACS. The Wellness Committee at Imerys Talc select a number of initiatives, projects and campaigns throughout the year in a coordinated effort for the betterment of their employees, families and our communities.
