North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) proudly announces that it has been awarded a four-year accreditation by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA), effective June 2, 2024, in recognition of our continuous improvement efforts in both service provision as well as our organizational systems and structures.
CCA offers a third-party review process that is tailored to community-based organizations and is based on widely accepted best practice standards. These standards promote ongoing quality improvement and responsive, effective community services. The evaluation process includes on-site visits by a review team, which conducts observations, interviews, and document reviews, supplemented by pre-site evaluations and surveys.
NEOFACS was previously accredited with a four-year term in 2020. The current accreditation review included a comprehensive set of organizational standards covering areas such as governance, financial management, human resources, community relationships, and quality and risk management, along with program standards relevant to our Child and Youth Mental Health Services.
By choosing to participate in the CCA accreditation process, NEOFACS demonstrates its commitment to children, youth, and families, as well as to community partnerships and organizational development. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our employees, volunteers, and Board of Governors. We extend our gratitude to everyone involved, especially the clients, staff and management who played a crucial role in the process.
The accreditation journey is an ongoing effort in quality improvement that enhances all aspects of the agency’s work. NEOFACS is committed to integrating accreditation principles and standards into our daily operations, ensuring transparency and accountability to our communities as we continuously seek to improve the services provided to children, youth, and families.
NEOFACS offers a variety of Child and Youth Mental Health Services for children and youth from 0-18 years of age as well as for parents/legal guardians and families experiencing mental health needs, crisis situations, or family breakdown. As an integrated agency, NEOFACS also offers Child Welfare, Youth Justice, Community-Based, and Prevention programs to children, youth, and their families in the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming.
