The New Mentality (TNM) and Children's Mental Health Ontario's Youth Action Committee (YAC) are hosting two consultations this month on Wednesday June 16th and Thursday June 24th exclusively for BIPOC youth ages 13-25! The YAC is a provincial advisory committee made up of youth aged 16-25 who work to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and improve services for children and youth.
The aim of these consultations is to amplify the voices and experiences of racialized youth within the Child and Youth Mental health Sector across Ontario. The YAC are looking to connect with BIPOC youth who also identify with being either:
- Low/income
- Male/masculine
- LGBTQ2S+ or
- Reside in a northern or remote community
Consultations for BIPOC youth that identify as being low income or male/masculine will be happening Wednesday June 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Youth interested in participating can register here and must do so before Monday June 14th.
Consultations for BIPOC youth that identify with being LGBTQ2S+ or living in northern or remote communities will be happening on Thursday June 24th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Youth interested in participating can register here and must do so before Tuesday June 22nd.
