North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEFOACS) will dedicate the 707 Ross Avenue East building in Timmins to the memory of Gerald Petroski.
Mr. Petroski was a long time Board volunteer and Board of Directors member. The building will be known as “Centre Gerald Petroski Center.”
Mr. Petroski’s many years of dedicated contributions to NEOFACS highlights his commitment to improving the lives of children, youth and families in our community. His work with Knights of Columbus Council 2403, Timmins and District Hospital Foundation, Child and Family Services of Timmins and District, South Cochrane Child and Youth Services, Timmins Police Services Board, Timmins and District Crime Stoppers, St. Martin de Porres and Timmins Food Bank, Timmins Committee of Adjustments and St. Anthony's Cathedral Restoration was recognized when he received the national honour of The Queen's Jubilee Medal in 2012 for significant contributions to his community.
Executive Director Richard Lambert Bélanger, NEOFACS Board representatives, staff and management will be in attendance at this event alongside Mr. Petroski’s family and friends to honour Mr. Petroski’s contributions. A brass building plaque as well as a custom designed mural will be unveiled.
