TIMMINS — A representative from the Chevaliers de Colomb, Conseil Ramore #8622 (Knights of Columbus) attended the head office of North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) on June 25, 2019, to deliver a $5,000 cheque to the North Eastern Ontario Children’s Foundation.
The generous donation from the service group will help to shape and improve the lives of children and youth from all backgrounds throughout the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming by supporting them in experiences that would otherwise be unattainable due to financial considerations.
Presenting the $5,000 cheque on behalf of the Chevaliers de Colomb was Émilien Charlebois, Député Grand Chevalier (Grand Knight). Accepting the cheque on behalf of the North Eastern Ontario Children’s Foundation were board members Don Anderson and Ted Assad.
All monies donated by the Chevaliers de Colomb, Conseil Ramore #8622 are dividends from the Jackpot City Gaming Centre gained by bingos through the hard work and dedication of their volunteers.
The North Eastern Ontario Children’s Foundation does not receive any public funding or assistance. Rather, it depends on the generosity of caring individuals, community groups, corporations and proceeds raised from various fundraising activities.
