North Eastern Ontario Family and Children's Services (NEOFACS) is currently recruiting committee members and youth co-chairs for a newly-formed Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)!
If you are between the ages of 14 and 25 and looking for a way to help with issues facing youth in our community, join our YAC. Get connected to your community while building awareness about relevant issues.
The purpose of the YAC is to provide youth in the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming with a voice and an opportunity to:
- Advise NEOFACS in the development of a youth engagement strategy;
- Support the implementation of NEOFACS' engagement strategy;
- Advise NEOFACS in the development of service delivery;
- Act as advocates and promoters of NEOFACS;
- Build leadership and life skills; and
- Build mentorship opportunities and relationships among its members and within the community.
Through this youth engagement initiative, more youth who have accessed or are currently accessing programs or services from NEOFACS will become engaged in a more meaningful way, informing services and leading to better service experiences and outcomes.
Committee members and co-chairs will receive a honourarium for their participation.
Efforts will be made to have a cross-representation of youth involved in various programs and services of NEOFACS. Former service recipients are also welcome to apply.
